An innovative programme that aims to decrease drug-related deaths, reduce stigma and promote treatment and recovery is up and running in Torbay.
Torbay Council and Torbay Recovery Initiatives (TRI), the local drug and alcohol treatment service, with the support of Devon and Cornwall Police, is running a peer-to-peer naloxone training and supply programme.

Find out how you can get trained to administer naloxone and save a life, or how your organisation can get setup to offer naloxone to people you work with.

This is especially important if you work with anyone who is at risk of overdose, or likely to witness an overdose.

The Smoking Cessation Community Grant is an initiative aimed at helping adults stop smoking, recognising that quitting smoking is one of the most important steps individuals can take to improve their physical and mental health. This grant scheme was launched during 2024/25 by Torbay Communities in partnership with the Torbay Council Public Health team. The scheme invited local community and voluntary sector organisations to run new projects to support smoking cessation.
